Zrebmun Posted November 30, 2006 Share Posted November 30, 2006 I recently got myself an 86 brat. If needed a clutch replaced in it. I have the clutch will install it this weekend. My question is. I was looking at the car last night, and the shifter broke free from the tranny where it bolts onto the piece comming out of the tranny. It is broken in half. Actually that cylinder (the shift rod) is pinned to the shifter assembly. I highly doubt it's actually broken. Take another look. There's a roll-pin - it's probably come out or something. Or are you talking about the pivot "ear" that the gear shift slips down into? Although I can't see how that could break..... A picture would be good. So I either need a linkage adapter, or if any locals in or around dallas/fort worth texas might know where I can get a new tranny that would be great.
