mulletkill
I just had my rear left wheel bearing replaced 3 weeks ago...Have only put about 400 miles on it since..It just quiet til about 2 days ago when I noticed grinding noise again...(on right turns). Then today heard some grinding from that wheel on a left turn..Could the bearing be toast already, or is it possible an axle nut or lateral link bolt was over/under torqued? any ideas? This was the first bearing to go on my car...Its a 99 Outback SUS, 78k.
tcspeer
If you are sure that is the wheel then I would check to see if the axle nut is tight. If it was left loose the bearing is most likely gone again. I would also check the brakes on that wheel. WoodsWagon
Hate to ask this, but did whoever did it know enough to pack the bearing full of grease?
mulletkill
Hate to ask this, but did whoever did it know enough to pack the bearing full of grease? That was my first thought, I hope so, the shop is a Subaru Specialist, so I'd imagine they have done their share of bearing jobs...
