Ive had this with both my '93 Legacy, and my '03 Baja. It originates from the rubber gussets on the doors where the side mirrors attach.

 

The cure was to replace the seals on that triangular piece.

 

There was a TSB I believe for the newer Legacys and Bajas (I got mine changed under warranty):D

iread a thread that said don't replace, flex them into the right shape , it will correct the problem. save the parts money for when you really need it. i don't remember exactly how to do it, i just remember the thread this fall, i think.

Hmmmmm.... just flex 'em huh? I dont remember the post.....but Im gonna try it on my old legacy, as Ive just been dealing with the noise :-\ (NOT gonna spend $$$ on something like that for a '93 vehicle!)

We have 2 OBW's. One is a 97' and the other is a 99". Both have developed a whistling noise around 50mph. It is caused by an air leak. any ideas?
