Possibly the brakes are dragging? Or a wheel bearing.

rverdoold
Probably it will come back, you probably gave Murphy (from Murphy's law) a lift when it happened. I had some kind of noise coming from the rear wheels (2wd) and it was the suspension. The shocks were complete worn out. So i put new ones and no more noise (well not from the back)
Bill90Loyale
i noticed that their is a dragging noise coming from my right rear tire while turning left to go around corners. it only happens when turning left. any ideas? It might just be a rusted out splash plate on the inboard side of the brake drum or disc. Next time you have the car raised for tire mounting or exhaust work or....inspect the back of the wheels and brakes. Sometimes the old rusted splash guard gets bent and makes contact with the drum in turns, producing the grind noise. The fix is simple. Pull the splash guard away from whatever it's making contact with. If it were my car, I'd jack the rear up, put it on jackstands, and get underneath there with a flashlight. Emphasis on JACKSTANDS.
