Turbo Swap

I am putting a 1985 MPFI turbo EA82 in an 88 SPFI wagon I have already installed the engine, the engine bay portion of the wiring harness, and the computer. All the prepherial things work, including the starter. But there is not power to the fuel pump or the starter. Many of the plugs were the same but I have a feeling that doesnt mean anything. Many other plugs are still homeless.

Looking for any experienced help.

You are dealing with two completely different fuel and ignition systems. Don't count on anything plugging in and working. Noah is onto something RE: different pump triggering, but its not a difference between turbo and SPFI, its a difference between the 85-86 fuel/ignition system and the 87+ system.

Time to bust out the wiring diagrams for each.

Doesnt the SPFI use a higher pressure pump, I coulda sworn I saw that in the FSM

Don't think so. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I am about positive that the FSM rates the turbo pump at 60-70 PSI and the SPFI pump is a bit less than that.
