December 27, 200619 yr What is the distance from the firewall to the radiator support in an SVX? And/or what is the length of the engine from front to back? My '95 Legacy (BD) measures out to 35" from firewall to radiator support for comparison. I have seen quotes stating the eg33 is 6" longer than the ej22, but have also spoken with a guy who put one into an Impreza who said it fit with the radiator, but there was literally no space between the rad and engine components, so he cut out the radiator support between the headlights and welded in box tubing to remount the rad further forward. Just in the information/research phase of a possible eg33 swap and this would be some valuable information. Thanks.
December 28, 200619 yr I would post this up on subaru-svx.net to get a quicker answer to your question. I do know the eg33 is longer than the ej22. 6" sounds pretty close. If you do find out let us know.
December 29, 200619 yr It would fit but it won't fit well. Have seen one in an Imp before (not a running 33 though I might add). If nobody posts the actual measurements by tomorrow I'll take a look at mine.
