Oshkosh
Hello, I have a 98 Outback Sport that is jumping out of fourth gear...Anyone know what the bench time is on replacing the syncro's??? I am thinking that I would rather repair mine versus buying a used problem child to swap out...Seems like this is a common issue with these. Legacy777
I had my turbo legacy tranny gone through and the syncro's replace. I'd have to look back on the invoice to see the hours & parts. It should give you an idea...but shop time/labor amounts may vary.

I dont know if it is a four hour job or an eight +++ hour job not having pulled one apart before...
Legacy777
Ok, my invoice just shows 250 bucks for labor. The total was $565.24. This was done at a shop by a friend of my buddy. So I'm not sure if I got any discount or not.....so like I said, the prices may vary. Have you tried calling a trans shop and ask them what the time is? Oshkosh
10.3 Thank You, Ouch! That is about $700-$900 labor alone here in the Northeast... Maybe time to learn to rebuild Subaru gear boxes myself...
