d19yda
I was overtaken by a fellow impreza driver yesterday, he seemed to be in a bit of a rush. There were 3 cars infront of me and as soon as there was a tiny gap in the traffic there was a huge cloud of white smoke and then he vanished.... im not sure if this was a magic trick dissapearing from behind the smoke of if this is normal for a turbo car but i have never seen this amount of smoke from the back of a car... is this normal??? porcupine73
Is that worn valve stems? Sounds like a neat trick either way. I saw this smokescreen trick when I was behind an old pickup truck. I had to slow down because I couldn't see through the smoke cloud.
nipper
Can be a bad seal in the turbo. Sometimes those that drive like idiots never do any maintanence. nipper
keltik
On a similar note, around here when im behind a turbocharged car, as soon as they boot it to pass someone a brief puff of brown smoke shoots outta their exhaust. Someone told me its the ECU over-fuelling before the turbo's spooled up. That true?
