Subaru_Mechanic
disty bolts were taken out and while trying to start it the disty shaft jumped and lost timing. whats the easy route?
calebz
Cotton ball in #1 spark plug hole. (just up top). Turn the motor over by hand, when the cotton ball poofs, point the disty rotor in the general direction of where the #1 spark plug wire goes on. Start the car and adjust. Numbchux
or just put the motor to the right timing spot (I forget what it is...~10* for carbs, and 20* for FI?), and then point the rotor. no need to take out a plug or anything. I've done it that way a couple times.
