crazy D
alright so i was driving around today and i first noticed the steering problem after an aggresive turn. when i turn the steering wheel i have little to no play and it gets extremely stiff, then it will break free and ihave a slight area of play again.....i found out the problem....were the steering shaft comes out of threw the firewall and it connects to a U-joint, there is a rubber spacer like thing where everything bolts together. the little rubber spacer is worn out nad flexing terribly, and turnig it causes it to flex really hard then jerk the whole U-joint to the drivers side.......so how do i go about fixing this? i would assume just replace the spacer but i dont know where to get one......help is appreciated. thanks D-

Jibs
ok........can you tell me where i can get one and how to replace it? Try Napa yet? Kragen? Autozone? Dealership? Or you could wait 2 years and got to PnP. Or you could pay me 2$ and come pull one off one of my wagon's. You should ask for a service manual for your B-Day and thats how to replace it. Have fun. Have fun fiing your soob, welcome to the club.:-\ :-p

carfreak85
All you need to do is remove those four bolts and replace the rubber coupler. Thats about it...

carfreak85
Just ask for the rubber coupler for your steering shaft. They can figure out what part you need in the end.
