Bucky92
I know alot of you have done the rear drum to disk swap on your 4WD subes...but what about a FWD one??What do I want to pull the parts off of? I am tired of Buckys intermittent brake failure ( we almost ate a jeep today) and I feel it has to do with the rears. If he is going to be laid up for awhile I might as well change them out. TIA! Turbone
You need the rotors from a 2wd rig. I used to have a set, I'll try and look for them.
WoodsWagon
Or you could put the control arm off of a 4wd one and leave the axel stub sticking out. I would think that 4wd rear disks are a lot more common.
baccaruda
ditto that. Plus you'd be half-prepped for a 4WD swap! (I didn't know bucky was a 2WD! ) Or you could put the control arm off of a 4wd one and leave the axel stub sticking out. I would think that 4wd rear disks are a lot more common. (I didn't know bucky was a 2WD! ) This is another thing I am contiplating..but with over 200K on his motor and the extra weight of the 4WD stuff....and the fact it will slow him down...not that he isnt slow already...but it is still a possibility....and baccauda...where have you been?? geesh only been a member here since 2004 and its in my sig... :Flame:
TROGDOR!
Check the XT's at Harry's. Most XT GL's had rear discs. Same exact job as a 4WD disc swap, just make sure your donor is a 2WD.
edrach
Need to have the donor be from a 2wd turbo. Everything on the 4WD is the same except the hub and the backing plate are different on the 2WD.
GeneralDisorder
If you find a 2WD turbo - check to see if it has a rear swaybar. If so, you might want to take the control arms and all so you get the swaybar too. GD
