mitch184
i've had to buy a new head for my ea82t and am getting the valves matched. Both heads are apart and wondering if i should get a 3 angle valve grind done? I know it does wonders on small block chevy's, but i don't know about on subes. anyone ever done this? Nug
I figured a three angle grind is pretty much standard operating procedure at the machine shop...unless it's a real high performance engine and a 5 angle grind is best. just cutting one angle on the seat is kind of bogus. A three angle grind generally helps airflow around the seat when the valve is open, and you can adjust where on the valve the actual seating is taking place. To answer your question, yes. Competent machine shop?
mitch184
yes, it is a competent machine shop. So i should go with the 5 angle valve grind. Is it make a big difference or just a little. im just trying to be on a rather low budget. thanks
PHATBRAT
I had a friend do that to his EA81. Can't say how much difference it makes because he had alot of other work done too. That car rocked! Well, It can't hurt, Do it. It isn't that much. Boz
RXTurbo
Okay, from the above posts I figure that the more angles the better, Would a spherical section on the valve and seat be then even better?
