backinbrat
hi there everyone, i have been trooping posts and threads about performance clutches for the EA81, but i still sort of have a unfinished decision, im looking for a clutch that can be dumped when in 4WD, and generally used more harshly, but with the added power increase, are such ones as the centerforce dual friction clutches up to the job? or will i have to to a bit of adapting (i dont really want to, but i can if nessercary) ive also read about the XT6 clutches not fitting striaght away, but im still a bit in the dark about that, do they fit stright on? cause i might look at a 'stage 3' clutch or something, tell me what ya think! Cheers everyone http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CTF%2DDF501001&N=700+4294925134+4294839071+4294865886+4294907499+4294899823+115&autoview=sku http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/85-94-XT-COUPE-1800-SERIES-TURBO-STAGE-3-CLUTCH-KIT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQitemZ8037871860QQtcZphoto http://www.clutchmasters.com/shop/?page=shop/browse&MakeModelID=1088&MakeID=117&Engine=1.8L+ENG+4WD+++++++++++++++++++++++98475&FromYear=1986&ToYear=1989 tell me of anymore if you find them! casioqv
The factory clutch can be dumped in 4WD- it just slips a bit first. If you get a clutch that doesn't slip when dumped in 4WD on dry pavement, you will break something.

hatchsub
yeah the factory clutch should be good for you. These engines even modified are not going to push more than 150 horses most of the time. Most ive heard out of an EA81 was 200 and that was a supercharged one i believe from ram engines.
[HTi]Dain
I dump the hell out of my stock clutch(s) in ALL conditions (mostly 4wd)... sometimes you just gotta ROCK:headbang: ! They might not last as long as a stage 3, but what the hell. Soobs just rock teh noobs!
backinbrat
seems that the standard clutch is up for the job, it better be cause im gonna give it a hard time, with more power than standard in 4WD most of the time, doing some agressive driving lol, good i aint driving it on the road! lmao!
