shift
my fuek pump went out while on the free way. luckly i was able to get back to my car before any wreckers got there and tried to make a quick buck off my butt. we completely ended up taking my whole ignition system apart, put it back togeather, then i tested my fuel pump, and there layed the answer! ha! once again i have out smarted the old subie! but thats not the worst part, i accideltly crossed spark plug wires 3 and 4. and took it out for a drive and thought there was too much fuel in the carb, so i looked at the manual and found out i crossed them. phew, feels good to be drivin the old subie again. on a side note. if i have a high pressure fuel pump(4 to 7 psi) do i really needf that much? or should i go with lower psi pump, like the 2.5 to 5? Subieguy
Why not use a factory fuel pump? They work just fine.
DerFahrer
There's no reason to use a higher pressure fuel pump. First off, your engine isn't really going to benefit much from extra fuel, even if you do put it to good use by advancing the timing, etc. But here's the thing: Your carb (assuming you haven't touched it) is going to just send that extra fuel right back into the tank anyway. SakoTGrimes
before any wreckers got there and tried to make a quick buck off my butt. Can they really steal cars just like that in Texas? It wouln't surprise me, they did ban biodiesel.

shift
Why wouldn't you? i dunno, i just have one fuel line running from the pump to the carb. nothing else except the pvc lines for the air and vaccum.
DerFahrer
Double-check. If you don't have a fuel return line, then EVERY drop of fuel that the pump is putting into the carb is being used. I would say you'd flood the carb and the car wouldn't even run.
