P K
Hello All, Can someone explain what this does to get more power and better MPG? Loyale Performance Chip I dunno. I am skeptical, but thought I would throw it up here for the board to comment - opinions and/or experiences welcome, thanks. r/ PK
hooziewhatsit
I'm guessing it's several resistors you splice in series/parallel with either the CTS, MAF, or some other sensor. It changes the output from that sensor to make the computer think the engine is colder than it really is so it injects more fuel, giving you more power. It's basically a sham. I may have to email and see if I can get a copy of the installation instructions to see what exactly it would do, since they don't link to the instructions on that page. -Dave
Milemaker13
Havn't we seen this a couple times before? Why would't auto makers include this technology in the cars in the first place? Or put this mod out themselves? Awnser? Probably either doesn't work, or hurts your engine in some way. Or perhaps kills epa rules? You say you think it fools the ecu into thinking the car is running cooler? Basically choking it a little? Maybe a little more power, but more MPG? Do you think that would cause the car to run a little warmer than normal?
misledxcracker
Changing the sensor's output wouldnt pass a California emissions test, I can tell you that much... I'm also interested in the instructions on those things... Always been skeptical about that kind of stuff.
A DOG
I put one of these on my xt6 a while ago and it helped very minimal. Didn't see any better mpg, but gave better throttle response. Basically worthless. You could make your own one of these chips for cheaper.
