Sister7
Well, what I hoped was a blown turbo in my GL-10 sedan is obviously something else. The exciting symptoms include: substantial positive pressure in the crankcase...enough to blow the dipstick out and send oil splashing up on the hood....and back down excessive consumption/combustion of oil...while I limped her home the cars behind me stopped and waited for the smoke to clear...it would be cool for a halloween party if you didn't mind the smell it's making a strange knocking sound....go figure My preliminary diagnosis is major bad juju in the bottom end. What typically causes this type of failure? The engine is 100% stock, 92 gas, clean (enough)/full oil. Oil pressure unknown due to stupid digidash and lazy subaru owner who never installed the oil pressure gauge she bought a couple of years ago (though I did open it and lose half of the fittings...) Driving the RX-RA around leaves me completely uninspired to fix the EA82T. I don't really need the extra car and I don't really have time to fix it.
