skishop69
Does the Xt run an inline filter before the pump like the previous Subes or does it have a sock in the tank? Thanks, Ski
Snowman
ASSUMING that the XT is like the other fuel injected soobs of the EA era, it should have an inline filter under the hood. There is also probably some sort of screen or mesh filter inside the tank as well. The inline filter before the pump was only on carbed models. idosubaru
the XT is like any other EA82 vehicle. the pump has a sock in it, but there shouldn't be any need to mess with that. the fuel filter is easy as cake to see, get to and replace. it's at the fire wall on the drivers side, up high with a hose on one side and a hose on the other, and it clips in a metal bracket. skishop69
I figured it was a sock. I've got a new pump and filter, but I can't get her to rev over 4800. New exhaust all the way back, coil, ignitor, t-belts, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. I've seen socks get enoung crap to caoolapse on themselves and restrict flow. Many times actually. I'll have to pull the tank and check. I haven't had time to monitor the fuel pressure when it happens. Maybe tonight.
