subaruplatt
Hey Guys. Just wondering what the front to back weight distribution of an 06 2.5i auto Impreza Wagon? I can't seem to find that exact figure any where. Maybe I might have to drive the front and back wheels over a scale. Has any one done that? Good to start a thread where all the different models could be covered.

Andyjo
based on the recommended tire pressures i'd say ~ 60:40, or 55:45 just a guess though...
LegAC
A sedan runs 60:40 The wagon runs 58:42 However, don't even think for a second that this translates into better handling. The rear is simply heavier. In addition, there is more body flex.
subaruplatt
A sedan runs 60:40 The wagon runs 58:42 I spent a night or two googling and read lots of posts. Really not an important spec, it's just that subaru doesn't use it. In the past winter we have become new subaru owners. This car makes potholes seem shallower and winter driving into a casual occurrence, this with a relatively stiff suspension, and is the second least expensive of the Subarus. I'm consistently surprised that more people don't have one. Thanks
2X2KOB
Isn't that information listed on the sticker on the driver's door frame? I don't have a Subaru handy (I'm traveling) or I'd just go look.
subaruplatt
They only need to put maximum loads not minimum.

Thanks Truth be told, Subaru pushed that stat big when the RS came out, and the 60/40 number sounds off to me for the sedan. I seem to remember that when the RS came out the numbers were closer to 52/48 Keith
subaruplatt
I am digging up one of my old threads. But I found the answer. My 06 Wagon has 57% of the cars weight on the front wheels. Edited December 5, 2011 by subaruplatt
bork
Sorry for my ignorance, but what the big deal about the weight distribution? You gonna take it out on the track?
subaruplatt
No big deal it's just something I always wanted to know. My VR6 Gulf I used to have had 67% of the weight on the front wheels. Now I have only 57 % AWD is suposed to be 60/40, makes sense.
