Camber plate source! did i post this yet?

Recommended Posts

note the bluc square: "Weld-on-mounts to lower / inner control arm connection point."

Ehh....I got a suprise for ya'll

Pleadies had a set of MRTrally camber plates that he didnt like and I aquired from him. They were on his legacy (1998 or so?) So...I have bolted them up to the RX. Its not hard. you have to drill the holes out a tad tad bit, and thats it. They bolt right onto the RX struts. Which are the same for any Leone/Loyale car.

Pics soon.

the camber plates for the leones appear to be the plates I was talking bout making and wleing on the lower crossmember, to move the lower control are out. I dont know if those rear camber plates would work. I know the fronts do.

  • 3 weeks later...

my guess is that its got over 2 negative degrees on each side. I dont know about the caster, but the way i set the camber plates, was to maximise the caster AND camber settings that I could get. Meaning, not going to max caster, or max cambe,r jsut going in the middle, for a combo.

On stock ride height...it zeroed the camber. With the new springs, and its now about 2.5~3 inches lower now, its got enough camber to get loose on the hard grippy stuff called tarmac.

damn that is sweet..

so you aligned by eye then?

lol y'know any place that'll ship me a turbo ea82 w/ complete harness/ecu fo' cheap?

man I'd love to go ft4wd as well..

the way things are going it might be easier to go ej205 or ej20g (as I've seen both designations used to describe an ej20 turbo) engine and tranny as at least I can get wrx front cuts w complete driveline here in Barbados...

Are you gonna intercool any of your cars?

IC plans...well, Ive read some stuff about water/air ICs, and my plan is to eventually experiment with one of those...as I dont want to spend endless hours making carbon fiber air ducts for the air/air top mount IC units....

The camber plates, I just shoved them into the position to get maximum camber, while getting maximum caster. Yes, I eyeballed them, but i believe that both rest in the identicle spots in thier relative strut top holes.

IF...I had access to an EJxx turbo front clip...with the trans, rear diff and driveshaft, and the wiring was complete...and I could get a fuel pump with it too...it'd be mine before you could say "turbo"!!

Personally, if there are front clips already in the country for sale, id get one of those, rather than dealing with so many different ppl here in the states and otherwise to get individual components shipped in....but thats just me.

What year is your Leone wagon? If its 85 or better, that originally came with the EA82 in it, i think its alot easy'er to do an EJ conversion...but then again, alot of nuts in OZ land took brats/bumbys and did some MONSTER EJ20 conversions....

my wagon is an '89 and it originally came with what is in it..an ea71 hitachi carb no feedback mechanical secondary only emissions stuff is cat and PCV system both are no longer in the car ;-)..5speed 2wd 'l-series' (read ea82) tranny and we are Right Hand Drive here..

almost ALL the ea82 powered 'L-series' cars here are autos 3 or 4 speed and 2wd few rare ea82 powered 4wd wagons also auto...a couple 5 spd dual rangers from the UK..ONE turbo ea82 that is crippled except no one will tell me where it is only that they 'heard about it'...

so even if I had the cash for wrx cut I'd still need 4wd rear 'l-series' x-member..turbo axels 2 hook up 2 ej tranny..plus the normal conversion stuff..

Hell if I could get a 2wd ej tranny I'd even go that route..but it'd def need LSD in the front imagine 227BHP 2 the front wheels in a 2500 lb wagon? LOL

I dunno this car might die a 1600 but damn I have memories in that car lol just ranting

very cool what your doing with your rides and at least your on the east coast LOL

East coast?? Yeah...not much subaru stuff here....if I were out west, Id have the second ever completed EJ conversion in an RX!

I would like to get you hooked up with the 4wd conversion stuff...but shipping would cost more than the parts. Im sure, that over time you coudl find the parts....

Wait, I had an idea, how about we sent you a whole turbo 4wd car?

Nice thoughts man ;-)

but duty is a killer 150%..I kid you not..for a complete car.. now for a body and an engine in a crate that is totaly different.. lol 5% duty plus 15% VAT ;-) on 'parts'

I'd honestly consider the 4wd stuff if you were willing and the price was right NC isn't that far from Barbados and I might have a connection in Miami that might make it cheaper...I dunno man lemme know
