Has anyone ever used American Engine Installation, They have 45 Locations nation wide? I need a different 2.2 engine for my postal wagon and they can do a low mileage engine installed for 2,150.00 dollar with one year unlimited mileage warrenty.

The transmission you told me about at Capital city in Austin was a good one, they also have the engine from the same car. I would like to buy it but if I buy the engine one place and have someone else install it and something goes wrong I wont have any way to recoup, that is why I was wanting to get the engine and install at same location.

an engine install isn't that difficult for any mechanic to do. you don't need a "specialist" of any sort to do it. seating the torque converter on an automatic is the only tricky and dangerous soob specific part.

maybe you could call the place you're getting it from and ask them if they have any particular shops they have a relationship with?

you'll be hard pressed to find a place wanting to warranty all of the parts and labor on an engine install. i know people that have had brand new engines installed and still had to eat labor costs (or go to court in one case..though it never went anywhere) when the "new" engine had issues. no mechanic will want to do free labor. it'll end in a "he said", "she said" type deal where the mechanic says the motor was bad, he's not eating the charges and the supplier (of used or new) will balk and not do anything, or best case they supply another engine but won't pay the re-install fees...because the warranty is for the engine only.

Buy the rebuilt engine through the installing dealer. That way, the installing dealer is on the hook for the whole thing. Use an installing dealer in your state. Then, if there is a problem with the engine, it is much, much easier to drag the dealer into court.

I agree, this was my thoughts on this and I dont have any problems going to court in fact me and Best Buy have a date for court within the next 30 days.

They have over 80 complaints in the last 36 months, just think how many people they ripped off that didnt file a complaint.

Good decision. I was about to tell you about my sister in law's absolute disaster with these lying stealing freaks....argh! Don't get me started!
