mtsmiths
I simply cannot convince The Pretty One that her new is actually almost exactly the same size as her '00. I realize the new one is probably quite a bit heavier, and certainly any 24,000 mile car will feel more solid than a 188,000 mile car. But I too, am surprised by how much more substantial the new one feels. I jokingly said "It feels like I'm driving a Buick" ... and she agreed . 86BRATMAN
I noticed the feeling of hugeness over the past weekend with our "new" 06 2.5i sedan. It isn't really that much bigger than the previous generations but damn if it doesn't feel like it. I know its got my mom's 98 by about 300lbs. But thats sunroof, better brakes, bigger wheels, more airbags, and a bigger engine for ya. These things are hands down THE best legacy's they made in terms of handling out of the box. And I'd probably put money on the 06 beating the 91 Turbo any day of the week.

Odd when i rented a 2006, i thought from the drivers seat it felt smaller, but the rear of the wagon seemd larger. nipper
86BRATMAN
I'm so very torn between the 97-99 GT's and the 05-07 on styling it hurts. I'm a manual trans kinda guy myself and I think the 5mt in this one is one of best shifting units subaru has ever put out. It just needs a short throw to keep up with me in spirited driving . We also test drove an 05 auto... Mom's 98 2.2 auto would have ripped that think a new a-hole. This new one is the wifey's car. I've got pretty much all I've asked for carwise in the last few years(even though they have been old and rusty:grin: ). She deserves something safe and reliable. That civic was about to drive me insane with wiring gremlins.
BruceyWV
The pillars are definately a lot thinner on the newer ones. The ones on the fat gen are simply massive. Before that, they were too small for my taste. My thoughts.
