Hondasucks
Should be 65 since I think that's the speed limit in Washington. In all reality, probably 100 or so tops, I've never had an NA Subie even that fast...Except my 83 GL-10, it topped out at 107 but it took a LONG time to get there! daeron
I took my GL-10 up to 102, and she still had five or so to go.. thats a 2wd, 3at NA SPFI 87 GL-10 sedan.
75subie
i had my brat up to 95 and it was still rolling up slowly. thats with a 4sp ea81, so a 5sp ea82 should be good for around 110 once you get rollin
Prospeeder
I had my RX up to 95 and it was still pulling pretty well,i would say it would go to 110-115.
baccaruda
in my 86 EA82T wagon - with a stock engine and exhaust and with the air filter box chopped - I was driving up the steep side of the Columbia Basin at Vantage and took it up to 90 in 5th gear and had plenty more left. tysn
back when i had the xt turbo 2wd i got it up to 112mph it still had some rpm left, ill never go that fast again though.
Uberoo
with a stock non turbo 4x4 wagon I would say 90-100 mph...
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
2WD EA82 got a Better / Wider Distribuitor Advance Curve than 4WD ones, and without all the Smog Stuff, and the Weber, my EA82 does around 115 but it´s Extremly Scary! ... so I Just Tried its Maximum Speed Once... WoodsWagon
Definitely have had a bunch of threads about this.... But with 30" mud tires on, SPFI, 97mph.
pheonix165
but it´s Extremly Scary! i think this statement hits the nail on the head. while think the car would mechanically top out at what would be quite a decent clip. the suspension on a 4wd wouldn't even be close to safe. on a side note i've had mine up to almost 97mph but it's not something i would do more then once. waimaks
'81 brat- 4 speed 96mph approx '87 RX - 114mph approx Also, the question is confusing.
misledxcracker
I have a 3AT... so in that case I usually keep it at around 70. But... I've got mine up to 110... downhill, on I-15 coming out of Vegas... and it was revving really high... scared the crap out of me sorta And I've taken a DL 5-speed about 120... same hill on I-
hooziewhatsit
hmm, stock 88 GL, 5 spd, SPFI, about all I could a few weekends ago was 85 in 4th This was also at ~4500' elevation, with 50lbs of tools and 4 adults.

daeron
'93 Loyale, 3AT, flat ground - 90 MPH Neither were absolutely topped out, but I wouldn't want to push it. My 102 was in a SPFI 3at on flat, level ground.. and I know I still had another five I couldve gotten out of her. and THAT was with the aerodynamic restrictions of my rustbucket!!! (read: the two HUGE rustholes behind the rear quarter panel windows.. I can reach my arm into them, thru the speaker holes, and wave at you from inside the cabin while standing outside the car ) I should say that I *was* on a deserted toll road driving across the Florida Peninsula south of Lake Okeechobee (read: thru the everglades, FLAT flat ground) and I was also pulled over by a Florida Highway Patrolman about ten miles after I slowed down to 80 in a 70 zone... talk about a close call!
