Its Almost Dead!!!!!

Yeah, my ej22 is kicking the bucket. The swap worked fine, my hacked wiring harness has held up, but the motor is biting it bit by bit. One of the injectors ran lean and it burned the #3cyl, then the valves. So it's running on 3 cylinders, and getting fed a steady diet of 1970's SD series 10w30 out of cans in the back of my garage. It's started ticking, so I think some sludge is circulating through the lifters. It's been like this for oh, 2 months now? It pulls as hard as the EA82 ever did even when it's running on 3 instead of 4.

Soon it will be time for the EJ25 swap.

Haha, that's a different story of late.

DOHC or SOHC? I reckon if I were to do another swap into a old gen subie I'd use the EG33, but that's just cos I'm crazy. I reckon it would fit nicely. Been told it just clears the rails without mods. And with all this radiator work that I still need to do on my conversion I tought, why not just mount it somewhere else.

Sorry, yabbing on too much. Will the 25 require any wiring changes?

The eg33 will fit an ea82 car without mods, but any dohc ej variant(including eg33 and er30) will need some notching in an ea81, unless you've got a decent lift....(hint hint)

All the wiring and stuff he's done will transfer to the ej25, just have to use his existing cam and crank sensors because obd2's have plug on sensor iirc, actually that may just be phase 2's, either way its a simple change over.

And by the way, that will be friggin nasty:headbang:

A Subaru shop in my local city disagrees as they just put a EG33 in a lowered Brumby.

I thought it sounded to good to be true until I saw it. And for the people who don't know, the EG33 is DOHC

EDIT: To save this thread from going offtopic, heres a link to the shop's site, but no pics of the 33brumby on there yet. http://members.optusnet.com.au/risingsuncar/rising_sun/Subaru.htm

Interesting.... I know where a junk yard svx with a good motor sits, and I'm working on buying a hatch.

That brumby sounds photo worthy, if your nearby with a camera I demand pictures:grin:
