ok 97 obw 198000mi.

the other day my clutch stuck to the floor. got under the hood and noticed the hose was split. Now i don't no which one is the release cylinder and which one the master is but it was the hose that went from a cylinder on top (the one that has a rod with a nipple on it that pushes the clutch back out) to the lower cylinder by the bottom of the engine. ok anyways i put a new hose on and bled the system but now the clutch is really hard to push and still doesn't come back up. i pulled the i am guessing the release cylinder off ( the one with the rod) and nowi cant get it back in. its like the rod is to long and i can't get it into the part that pushes the clutch (throw rod)sorry this might not make any sense but if it does can anyone help. i need to get to work in the morning

thanks jake

Most likely you still have air in the system. Air is very hard to get out. You may have to pull the slave cylinder off the transmission and put it as high as you can and try bleeding it that way.

Keep the clutch master cylinder from hitting the floor by putting a 2.4 under the pedal.

You will have to retain the slave piston with a clamp of some sort.

If that does not work, I have had success reverse bleeding the systems. Open the slave cylinder bleeder and fill it with fluid. Close the bleed and force the fluid back into the master. Repeat as many times as you need to. The slave should be as low as possible when reverse bleeding. You will also have to remove fluid from the master as necessary. The turkey baster works for this.

Good Luck, Larry

thanks for the advice. for some reason though i took the release cylinder off and now i can't bolt it back on. the piston rod won't go back into the little nook in the throw rod. i can move the rod back and fourth but it doesn't go back far enough. and i can't push the piston in any farther. any one have any ideas or even know what i am talking about. it doesn't matter if the clutch is in or out
