Jutboy
Hmmmm......I have a hard choice to make and I would like your input on it. I know a guy that selling a smooth running /decent looking 91 Legacy Turbo - Standard Tranny - 126k black car....900 bucks. I have a teal 95 Impreza L Sedan Automatic with some simple mods (ie. remote starter/door openers) which runs great and has been looked after by me in everyway for the past year in a half. Oh yeah did I mention it was teal - yuck. So I was originally thinking about buying the Turbo engine/tranny for my Impreza and I was going to repaint my car...throw some scoops on it, you know, it would be sweet. But money is tight and so is time.....from what I read the EJ22T works great with the RS2.5 heads (and I'm assuming not the EJ22E or the EJ22K wiring)....What would you do if you were in my situation. I'm open to any suggestions.....Thanks - Jutboy
Manarius
I would sell the Impreza and buy the Legacy. Just leave it unmodded until you can get the funds and head over to http://bbs.legacycentral.org.

Jutboy
Thanks guys - I just picked it up on Saturday in Vermont, I'm really happy, its an Standard and other than some cosmetic stuff all I really need to do is fix a power steering leak. I don't know if you guys care but the whole pick-up process was a huge mess, went up and on Saturday to Burlington, Vermont, drove down on Sunday. Got a tagged calling my friend to drive down to CT slow (where I'm from) because I had just a passed on cop and had already seen 3 others....well 1/2 mile down the road was another, got nailed with 82mph in a 65. Well I guess I had to either buy temporary plates (and insure it for a month) or tow it for 4 and a half hours....cause you can't use the old owners plates. Infractions: Speeding, Mis-use of plates, no insurance. no registration. VT state trooper was pretty nice....I guess just gave me speeding, rest warnings, towed my car, dropped me off at a trucking stop. Waited a truck stop for about 4 hours for my friend that was going down to CT anyway (the one I was calling above), got dropped off at home. Monday I rented a trailer and borrowed a truck and drove to get my car. I picked it up and the got pulled over cause there were no lights on my trailer, the truck didn't have any adapters to hook it up. Infraction: Defective equipment Got a warning (4th in two days), and escorted to truck pull off where he said dont drive it....I figured I would never get down to CT so I waited until morning where the light would prevent it from being seen...woke up late, basically the time I would normally if I was in CT for work. It was also raining so the whole not seeing the light didn't really seem plausable. I ran 2 wires from my battery in my Legacy to trailer and made myself some kind of daylight running lights...got it home!!!!!! Was 2 and half hours late to work! Total Cost: 144 ticket, 125 towing, 50 trailer rental, 80 for gas roughly = $400 + insurance raise??? + 900 car = $1300....not bad I guess...considering how high it could be...I'm a dumb rump roast. PS. Anyone know the difference between pleading guilty/admit or no contest on a VT ticket
Hotshot
Sorry about all the trouble, but you got a great car and a great story out of all of it!
lmdew
Next time, take a good set of plates with you, make sure all the lights work and drive the limit! I've transfered a few cars this way, with no problems.

nipper
I've transfered cars this way too. The big thing is to make sure its insured, and you have a bill of sale on you for the same day or reasonably close, plus a set of plates in your name. I've also gotten pulled over with documentation like this, and received no ticket. The really big thing to them is insurance. nipper
