Well I have been driving my BF Subaru Legacy wagon around for a couple of days. I thought I would be embarrassed to drive it around b/c of the customized modification that he has made on it, but I think its kind of fun to drive. I caught myself speeding a couple of time:rolleyes:

Well my co-workers are picking on me about the car b/c of the tire on the roof and the fog lights. My response is usually "what is wrong with my hot rod car... I like it." The best comment I got was from one of the ladies husband asking her if she was going to ride in the subie and saying that she should probably wear a helmet.

Well I may be embarrassed to drive in his subie but I do love the attention it gets. I hope my subie gets the same attention, which is coming real soon:headbang: I just thought I would share this story and see if anyone else has the same reactions from workers or other people.

Looks in the parking lot. That brings a smile to my face.

My co-workers always marvel at the ever changing Yakima Rack setups I have on my 95 Legacy Wagon depending on whether I'm bicycling with friends (4 racks), kayaking, windsurfing, skiing, or some combination thereof. It's also usually covered in salt/mud/snow as well as small divots from various types of equipment bonking the top of my car. I do have to be careful about not ruining my suit when I get in and out of my car. Some newbies at work are somewhat shocked to see a respectable (haw!) business person enter and exit such a battle-scarred car. They're expecting some crazy kid intern... Of course, nobody want's to ride in my car on lunch runs. Beach sand, bicycle grease, mud flecks...

The nice thing is I never have to remember where I park my car in a parking lot. I just look for the little yakima forest sticking out from the top of my car :grin:

Well, I can see you are infected by Subaru Fever. It is usually caused by driving one. There are very few cures for this, and even they only work sometimes. I will now try and save you from this "illness":

* Subarus are the #1 Lesbian car of choice.

* The dreaded headgasket problem.

* Subarus eat transmissions.

* You have to buy your tires in sets of 4 or you will kill the transmission.

* Subarus get sucky gas milage.

Anything? No? Oh well, I guess you are "incurable" then. Welcome to the family. . . :rolleyes:

is your 95 a sedan or a wagon? Manual or automatic? can't wait for pics!!

I don't think its #1 unless were all lesbians here :D and im pretty sure these trannies last longer then most other manufactures, and headgasket issue is only common on first gen 2.5 engines. And subaru's overall get pretty good fuel economy considering they are AWD and weigh a crap load.

Thanks for the effort of trying to cure me. I have been rolling my eyes at my boyfriend for 2 years now :rolleyes: but now I understand why he is the way he is.... You know all excited whenever he sees a suby and others.

My suby is a wagon. I do like the sedans better but I really couldn't be picky b/c the price was right. Of course I am not getting rid of my chevy truck. I love it tooo much!

I hear a lot of people complaining about the items I mentioned above as reasons not to get a Subaru. Yes, the Suby Outback is a favorite in the Lesbian market. Probably because they are built so well, and they do not have to deal with "shady" mechanics that often. "Sexy" styling being less important than "until the end of time" reliability. . . As for the tranny, it belongs in a truck! Yes, it is very reliable, but the early 4EAT models were prone to problems. And as for milage, there are people that think that 22-27MPG is pooe milage for a small wagon. What they are missing is that this is actually a very capable 4-wheel-drive vehicle that also has quite a bit of performance. Not a lot of cars out there can match the Subaru, at any fuel milage. I happen to love my Subaru quite a bit. I will of course freely admit that I am indeed a Lesbian.
