Uberoo
I am trying to wire my radiator fan to come on/off with a switch.I had a set up before on my wagon using a five pole relay with a wire off the + side of the coil to only give it power when the coil was energized.now That I have done a EJ22 swap I dont have a coil.So I was thinking taking the signal wire straight off the battery(I can't accidentaly leave it on,my fan is REALLY LOUD).The only problem is I have forgotten which wire goes to what terminal. My terminal choices are 86,85,30,87,87a.The wires are (1)fused power from battery,(2)signal wire from battery,(3)ground off relay,(4)switch,and(5) power to fan. So what wire goes where? Thanks in advance.
daeron
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=579845&postcount=16 87 and 87a are both going to the same place, skip's diagram is for a four prong relay. that should help you, it sounds like you know what the relay does already. Uberoo
I tried to wire it like this with some success. 87=power to fan 87a=signal from battery 86=switch 85=ground 30=fused power from battery But the fan runs even if flip the switch which means its bypassing the switch..Hmmm if I took the "signal" wire and connected it to the a wire running off the switch, then connected the switches ground to the relay(86) then ground(85) out. Then power in becomes 30 and 87 becomes power out on a four prong relay.Which I happen to have.I'll try that tommarow...
