cd45
A friend is looking at a 1991 Loyale. It has the EA82, no turbo, 5 Speed, push button 4WD. It has just had the timing belts replaced. The only reason it is for sale is that it is at a garage, and the guy that took it there has not come back for it, and brought no money to pay for the repairs. So he did the paperwork through the courts to get the title, and is going to sell it for the costs that he has in it, plus a little for himself. Does anyone have any idea what this car is worth? I don't know. It is white, blue interior, the only rust that I could see was on the back drivers side fender, and it was from a rub that removed part of the tail light. The interior is in good shape, no tears in the seats, carpet was all there, no stains that I could see. Power windows and locks. The only thing that I saw that I did not like was the 4WD system, I like my D/R. Than.ks
daeron
well, the market varies greatly around the country. Down here, and in other rust prone areas, a car like that may well fetch over 1000.. but in colorado or oregon, it would be more like 500 if there is no more rust than what you say... Make sure to check the undercarriage and all nooks and crannies (around the trunklid, and the windshield area) very thoroughly.. what is he asking for it? I would be low balling him; find out how much was owed on the vehicle (do you know what repairs were not paid for? just the T belts?) and add 150 to that, see where he goes from there. Check your local craigslist cities.. even going down into texas or up into kansas, check what the cars might be selling for in your region. its not a FANTASTICALLY desirable soob, but it is fairly new.. I certainly wouldnt go over a grand for it, in any case.
Gloyale
91 is fairly new for these cars as they date back all the way to 85.(earlier in japan even) SPFI and Manual trans is about the most dependable setup you can get too. D/R is nice, but I really like the shifter mounted button. I feel like I'm able to more quickly respond when I need the 4wd and a downshift at the same time. Being in the midwest, it surely will have some rust. But even without much rust it is only gonna be worth $500-800 bucks. Being in the midwest, it surely will have some rust. If it has more than 150,000 miles maybe only $300-500. Loyales are ussually pretty stripped down models too, as compared to the Luxo GL-10s of the 80's. They're good enough cars to be worth more, but yet, the market value for them is pretty low.
idosubaru
how many miles? the difference between 80,000 and 250,000 is a big one. with reasonable miles and in good running condition this is a great car. these will run forever and being SPFI and manual trans, there aren't really any reliability issues with this vehicle. age is a concern, any radiator or hoses that are original are over 15 years old and need or will need replacement at some point. but these are minor issues that preventative maintenance and a thorough checking take care of. it would sell for $500 - $1,500 depending on many variables. if i was looking for a good deal and didn't need it, i'd offer $200. if i had a friend that really needed the car i'd pay up to $1,000 for it if it's in decent shape...rust, mileage, etc.
