Pooparu
My ea82 transmission is stuck in 4wd and when I have it in neutral up on my tow dolly the back wheels are stuck. It's acting like it's in gear but it's not, and I can't get the damn thing out of 4wd. Any idea why this might be happening?

zyewdall
Pushbutton or dual range 4wd? If it's pushbutton, maybe the vaccum solinoid has died and won't pull it back into 2wd.

Pooparu
No one else has ever had this problem? I guess once I get the car running I'll mess around with it but it's the strangest thing. Maybe once it gets driving it'll pop back out.

Sweet82
Sometimes they get a bit cranky in their old days. Backing up usually un-binds the tranny enough to allow you to shift out of 4wd with out much effort.
WoodsWagon
or if you jack up one wheel and let it spin, you should be able to pop it out of 4wd.
Milemaker13
Are your tires the same size? My loyale didn't want to pop out before I got new tires (all the same size this time:headbang: )
nipper
I'm not sure whats going on here, but have you attempted jacking one rear wheel off the ground to release the tension in the drive line? nipper

Pooparu
he-he. No, I haven't tryed that yet. I also wasn't sure if it had anything to do with my EJ22 swap. As soon as I get the car back from wiring I'll try all of that stuff. I just thought it was weird that we pushed it up on the tow dolly just fine, but when we started pulling it the back wheels locked up. I ended up just pulling the drive line to make it roll. Thanks for the help, and I try to jack one rear wheel off when I get it back.
