Uberoo
After my last wheeling trip my footwell in my wagon is really dirty and muddy from the mud on my boots.I am wondering if I should yank the carpet out and just rivet an aluminum diamond plate piece in the driver's side footwell for antislip.Car is my offroad toy so the carpet is just going to get trashed/mold/rust metal underneath. Afterall,I like shiny bits of metal in the interior.
SOOBOUTLAW
It'll fill up with water alot faster without the carpet, and it'll be noisier too. Drafty too. But you can silicone wherever you need to. I haven't siliconed my rig yet so it gets water in.
hatchsub
The benifit of having no carpet is that you wont get that moldy smell and your floorboards will be able to dry out rather than stay wet and rot.
Snowman
It'll be loud! But if it's mostly an offroader, screw it!
pheonix165
i don't have carpet in my sedan and while it is louder...its also worth pointing out it you can also utilize the drain plugs that are in the bottom of the floor.
idosubaru
i don't know about soobs, but trucks and jeeps without carpet can get annoyingly hot. so hot that you can't go barefoot or wear flipflops. maybe soobs don't have that issue?
pheonix165
in my experience, soobs don't really as high of exhaust temps as other vehicles do, in addition to that...as long as you don't remove the heat shields or the remaining sound deadening you should most definitely be fine. Brumby Boy
if your worried about niose and (swearing filters own me) you could spray the floor with that spray on ute tray liner and use it to seal the floor to stop water coming in and to act as sound deadining just a thought
