moosens
Car is a 1992 Legacy wagon. Would gladly convert rear drums to disk brake setup if possible. With the Loyale line there were 2wd turbos that had rear disks. Any models fit that catagory with the 5 lug Legacy line? Or any crossover installations from other makes? Thanks for any help. Manarius
Uhh, all 1992 Legacy Wagons had 4-Wheel Disc brakes.
ShawnW
Yeah its very doable just find another Legacy with them and bolt em on. Skip the turbo legacys though the rotors are expensive to replace later.
DerFahrer
Uhh, all 1992 Legacy Wagons had 4-Wheel Disc brakes. +1. If it's a USDM 90-94 Legacy, it has rear disc brakes.
moosens
+1. If it's a USDM 90-94 Legacy, it has rear disc brakes. Wow,I didn't even look. Thanks,I guess. I think I have some brake work coming up.:-\ My wife's '96 Brighton has drums,so I just figured the '92 had cheapy (L series) wagon had them too. Thanks for the edjumacation. Maybe that's why I couldn't find anything in the search. So Shawn, I sure do trust your opinion....and since I haven't even looked yet.... talk to me brother. Were you thinking of something else? Hondasucks
It DOES have drums in the rear, but they are the parking brake only :-)
moosens
Wow,I was going to delete this out of embarasment, but I'm going to check later.Just been too busy since I got the car to look. Quick eBay check shows me rotors 'n pads for '90-'05 Legacy.... See you guys later.
Legacy777
Actually the first gen legacies were a lot more "plush" or refined then the impreza line....and even some of the second gen legacies. Subaru cheapened things in the mid-90's to cut costs.
moosens
So I guess I should have asked about a conversion for my wife's 96 Brighton.:-\
rverdoold
Sorry to say, but i have 92 legacy 2wd with rear drum brakes as main rear brakes. Models that were sold here (legacy only, doesnt matter sedan or wagon): 2wd any transmission (only 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0) 2disc + 2drums, no ABS 4wd any transmission (1.8, 2.0 and 2.2) 4disc + ABS 4wd turbo (2.0) 4disc + ABS And i really would have liked to have ABS and 4 discs since it looks nicer with my new alloy wheels
DerFahrer
+1. If it's a USDM 90-94 Legacy, it has rear disc brakes. Other markets got models that were more basic and stripped than the US did, so that doesn't surprise me.
