robwhite
I have an ej20 from 2002 impreza using standard ecu in my L series wagon but would like to know if anyone could help me by_ pass the imobiliser circuit so I dont need to buy an imobiliser ecu and ignition switch/key assy ? As when I try to start the eng there is no pulse to the injectors ? regards rob
the_postie
You need to run the ign and key from the doner vehicle, yep you need to keep the imobiliser.Subaru can reprogram and do a new key, pretty costly.Another way is to use a loom, ecu and intake manifold sensors etc from a earlier ej20 pre imobliser era. suberdave
i dont think you can bypass it... you will need to get the proper ECU and imobalizer circuit. check around at http://forums.nasioc.com they may be able to help with this... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
robwhite
I have been told that if I procure an ecu from a jap imported vehicle of the same age the ecu that is used in japan doesn't have the imobiliser circuitry fitted can anyone confirm this ? regards rob
yegoshin
if the wiring from the 2002 imp harness is different from the earlier age one then it will not work. Your best best as said before is to take a manifold/ECU/wiring off a pre imob impreza
