Caboobaroo
since I know a lot of people on the board have EA82s, and since we all know that the timing covers SUCK, what if someone (like myself) started to make them out of aluminum? If I did, who would buy them? Just tryin to figure out if it would be worth it or not:D
Soobadooba
Probably not, since everyone who has posted about covers to me says leave them off...unless...hmmm...you came up with some that had a single quick release or something. -Louis- '91 Loyale 4wd 5spd Wagon
Caboobaroo
hrmmmm not a bad idea. Like a quick release like on the air filter housing box thingy. How it has those clips and you just go *pop* and it comes off.........Any more input would be helpful because I am actually thinking about making these if there are enough of a demand for them. Flowmastered87GL
If you can keep them to $50 or less I will take a set Make sure they are compatable with the little rubber gaskets that go on the covers. (theres alot of em!)
soobme
What if U made them more like a gaurd than a cover, leave the front open but have protection all around the sides and back. This would give protection with out being a PITA when it was time to do belts ect.
Qman
The purpose of the covers is to keep debris out of the belts and tensioners. They should only be opened when doing the belts and waterpump. Just my opinion.

I go through LOTS of puddles on undeveloped side streets delivering pizza and my car needs all the protection it can get
subarubrat
Are you talking about making castings from the stock plastic ones? I would be all over a set for the ER27, but that is a pretty small market.
PHATBRAT
Don't you mean oil pump?

TomRhere
I would be interested in a set for the EA-82, and ER-27 myself.
baccaruda
i'd go for a complete EA82 setup. Maybe you could engineer the middle piece so that you don't have to take off the crank pulley to replace the water pump. you could sell these on ebay as well, i'd imagine. Meeky Moose
i'd go for a set of aluminum covers, fronts, and backs, seals are a must to keep junk outa there, quick release would be awsome too.. the idea about the middle piece would also work for me.. i spring for a couple ea-82 sets.. i'm bettin scrapdaddytatum would go for a few himself, he's always checkin on covers that are good, this would solve his woes too..
