Adam N.D.J.
Tick, tick, tick, tick. Ohkay, here's the thing, my ER27 doesn't normally tick. When I first put in the motor I flushed it out and didn't have a problem all summer. But now that it's getting into winter (I changed the oil down to 5w30 from 15w40), I have a ticking when I first start it up, and the longer I let it sit, the longer it takes to stop. Is this normal??? I'm not really too used to dealing with the OHC, and my EA82 car doesn't do this in the morning. Is this a normal thing?? Do the lifters have a tendancy to bleed down when it sits for a while? When I started it today that Brat had been sitting for over a week since I last started it, and it took almost an hour for it to stop ticking!! I'm just wondering, cause I'm hopeing that there is nothing wrong my engine, this baby is fresh, and I don't want to tear into it again!! Thank you! WagonsOnly
I've had 2 Subarus out of about 20 that don't tick ('75 wagon and '62 360) so when the alternative is sounding like a lawnmower....I'd be grateful. Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it until it gets LOUD and stays that way (then just add oil).
