Nug
Whoever gets me the right answer first wins $5 via paypal. Get the VIN # off of your 1986 carburated EA82 car with a 3AT with pushbutton 4wd and call Auburn Subaru or your local subaru dealer and get me the part # of the torque converter. No 1986 carburated EA82 car with pushbutton 4wd 3AT? Sorry. Or if you have a factory parts book, that will be acceptable also, I suppose. Go! Turbone
Might help if I had a vin # and the model. Got a parts book. Could be part # 31100 AA150. Note in book says its for all AT from 85-87 w/4wd.

Sweet82
My Guess is 3000-9821A-7. When do we know if we won? How many entries are allowed per person?
Nug
You know you won when I slide the torque converter onto the transmission and I don't kick it out of habit. Or If you get a PM from me asking for an email address to send funds to. Multiple (educated) guesses are encouraged. Of course, at this point, I'm not even sure if the transmission that came out of this '86 car is original. Which makes it much more difficult. Hondasucks
There should be a part # sticker on the bellhousing of the trans, it's usually by the starter... Might be able to look it up with that? I dunno, all my cars are stick so I can't help ya, but if I see one in the JY I'll write down the VIN.
Nug
The only surviving sticker says 437717. See http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74061 for more clues.

Nug
I think it was called "3AT peeps, I need your help. Sort of important". The issue has been resolved, but if you want to learn a thing or two about the differences between 3AT automatics, i guess it's a good read.
