unplug the green connectors under the hood, at the back of the engine bay, driver side. they are for testing purposes only. If there is a white one-wire connector plugged in that comes out of the harness in the same spot, unplug that as well.

It sounds like your diagnostic wires are connected. I'm not sure where they would be on your car, but my 93 loyale has them located under the hood against the drivers side firewall.

There's two white connectors and two green ones. The green ones put it in D check mode, which disables the computer timing advance and starts the solenoids clicking on and off. The white connectors pull any codes from your computer, which can be read by the blinking light on the computer. There is a write up on that in the USRM. Connecting both sets at the same time is supposed to clear the codes from the ecu.

If the green connectors are connected, disconnect them.

This should hopefully fix the sputtering too.

On MPFI cars like your 86 gl-10 they are under the ECU. Sound like they are connected, they should not be normally. They are only for testing and reading codes. The 2 black connectors down there are the READ connectors, they should be unplugged for normal driving as well. Sputtery? check all the plugs and make sure the tube from Maf to Turbo, and all the Vac and PCV hoses are connected and in good condition.

there's a button to the left of the instrument cluster where the rear defrost and cruise is. It'll be at the bottom of that column. Should say "HEIGHT" on it. Push it in, car raises like an inch and a half. Push it again to disable it.

hey i looked and ther isnt a button ther is a cruse controlle one but not a hight button :( so why dose it have the car on the cluster ?? Rob

Either someone swapped dashes, or it had Air suspension and somneone removed it and took the button too. Open the hood ook at the tops of the struts. Are there black platic covers that have writing like *air suspension* or *Height control* I forget what they say but basically look and see if it look like it has Air suspension. If not I'll bet someone swapped the dash. Which means it may have more (or less) miles than shown.
