crazy D Posted May 8, 2007 Share Posted May 8, 2007 i just put on a different carb (craptachi) and it runs good. the only thing thats wrong is that it idles at like 1800rpm and the idle adjust screw doesnt work. on my other carb that didnt work either. is this a problem on most hitachi carbs? is it easy to fix? how do i fix it? thnx -D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also is the Choke functioning? if it is misadjusted or sticking it could be keeping you at a *high idle* like it does for warm up. The 84 Carb is actually alomst identical to the 85 EA82 Carbs. the big differeence being a 2 stage Choke Vac pulloff. I think you could make the older carb work, but this may be part of the problem if you got a differenet Carb. Vaccum Leaks on a Carbed engine ussually cause it to idle poorly and low. snoboy Posted May 18, 2007 Share Posted May 18, 2007 I found that there needs to be more slack than you might think on the cable...
