07 Forester Seat Belt Beep

My new 07 Forester seat belt beep is driving me NUTS!

 

I have a habit of removing my seat belt from the clip about a block from my house. And I also have a habit of not putting my belt on until I am about 2 blocks when I leave home.

 

Does anyone know how to disable the beeping sound... It's really annoying when I am trying to listen to my Corey Hart CD. heheheh

Put your seatbelt on when you get in the car and then take it off as you're getting out? It's illegal to drive without a seatbelt on so....

I know its unsafe to drive without a seat belt... but I live here , its a tiny town in Canada. Crap, the worst thing that can happen to me is that I slide into a SNOW BANK!

This works for the 06/07. Not certain about earlier Subaru's:

 

Within 30 secs of ignition, clip/unclip seatbelt 20 times. You must be quick to do this. Also the Door must be Open.

I think I've seen other posts where people claim their vehicle has been 'de-chimed'? Maybe that means finding that little chiming thingy and yoinking it out with a pair of vice grips; I don't really know...or
