GREENSUBIE Posted May 13, 2007 Share Posted May 13, 2007 I have a 86 GL 4x4 hatchback, its a 4spd, i want a 5spd 4x4, so i found a 87 subaru wagon, 5spd 4x4, I know you have to swop the rear ends, and what esle? the engine the 5spd is coming off of is a EA82 and i have an EA81 i think there might be a problem, id really appreciate the help. thanks SS Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SuBrat84 Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 unless your donor car is a turbo with the 3.7 rear end you dont need to swap rear ends.. they should both be 3.9. You really should get the tranny mount from bratsrus and then you will also need to have a custom shorter driveline or a custom mounting bracket for the two piece driveline.
