2F1R Suby/dub
I posted a couple of pic's showing the progress or lack there of on the 2F1R Suby/dub 3 wheeler. Once I get some measurements I can proceed. Right now. as it sits the ground clearance between the Suby front crossmember and the ground is 11". Does that sound ballpark? The frame rails are 7" from the ground. I can change either to suit before I finalize the ground clearance at the front then at the third wheel in the rear. After that, it's a done deal. The pic's show the Suby front subframe and transaxel, and another side view of the trans. A partial footwell will run in here once I remove the radius strut, and change to an upper control arm. The rear will be equal lenght paralell bars the same as the front. There will be a central backbone (triangular) and outer rails as well. HMMMMMMMMMMM. I wonder how this would go with a WRX in it? Cheers. Dave.

2F1R Suby/dub
Hello all. I have been working on the adapter to mate the Suby trans to the (boo, hiss) VW engine. Before you get all disjointed in the proboscis I went with the VW because 1. I already have it, and 2. no radiator related cooling issues. Right now I have a bit more steel to trim to get the adapter ring to fit over the flywheel. It already bolts up to the Suby tranny. While I've been doing this a friend wants a three wheeler too. He wants the Suby tranny and front subframe and a Harley Vtwin for power. I figure the easiest way to make this work is an adapter off the HD engine at the output on the crank. Attach a drive plate to mount the clutch and then the tranny. HD's aren't bad because they are non unit engines(meaning the engine is seperate from it's trans, whereas a unit engine has the tranny built into the cases). I was thinking a unit engine could be used if a transfer case was built and a Suby rear axel was used in place of the tranny. My question to you all concerns that rear axel(older 4 wheel drive type). Do the axels mount on the carrier the same on the rear as on the front? Do they use the roll pins and splines? Can you mount front axels to the rear carrier? Are both front and rear 23 splines (25 for turbo)? Thanks for the help. Cheers. Dave Allen.
