mellow65
what all do you need to use to make an xt6 clutch work on a GL? Will the pressure plate and clutch disc just bolt up? Or is it a combo of the xt6 and GL parts to make it work? Do you have to do anything to flywheel to make it fit?
idosubaru
is it an EA81 or EA82? the XT6 clutch won't work straight up in an EA82 GL. it'll need some help....see below....
mcbrat
the clutch disc is the same for ea82 and er27 but the xt6 has a different pressure plate, and the flywheel is surfaced to different specs. if you just buy a XT6 clutch kit, then get your flywheel turned to the xt6 specs (the shop should know the specs). I'm running this setup with a 89 GL wagon D/R in my 82 Brat.

You're giving a lot of credit to the shops here thinking the would know specs on a xt6 fly wheel. What is different about it? and it is for a ea82, sorry

Or anything else you can remember you had to do?
mcbrat
ok so when i find a shop with those specs, it's just a bolt on thing at that point? Or anything else you can remember you had to do? right, get your flywheel turned to XT6 specs. if they ask what it's for or what it came out of, tell them XT6. and use a XT6 clutch kit then.
