soobscript
Would it be bad to put a 2.25" in/out muffler on after 2.5" mid-pipe? I'm worried about back pressure, but even the "smaller" muffler is bigger than the stock stuff before the mid-pipe cat. Currently has no muffler. I don't know what size the current exhaust is, but it is bigger than stock. I might get lucky and find out it is 2.25" to match the good muffler I'd like to use. 86BRATMAN
I don't think it will hurt anything at all. In my n/a experiance its actually helpful to step down the pipe in certain areas to keep the velocity more even and help with the motor's scavenging effect. carfreak85
You want the highest pressure differential across the turbocharger, so as free flowing an exhaust as you can afford would be the way to go. On a turbo car, even our poorly designed EA engines, I would not go below 2.5" from the turbo back.
Tosh
I've got 3" turbo back although "back" is a relative term... http://www.toshcari.com/Drdoom/IMG_0206.jpg thats as far "back" as it goes
