landozion
I need to replace a warped front rotor on my 97 OBS wagon, and was going to get reman calipers as well (200,00 mi). Seems that in mid model year 97 the front caliper changed from a one pot to a two pot. I think the rotor diameter changed at the same time. I have the older one pot. Does anyone know if I can I replace my older rotor and caliper with the newer ones to achieve an upgrade? Did anything else change? ie master cylinder or booster? john in KY
I replaced the front brakes on my 95 wagon with components from an 02 WRX a few years back. No problems but you will need the caliper brackets if you go with a larger diameter rotor. Forgot to mention the bigger rotors require at a minimum 16" wheels. Andyjo
you can throw on WRX parts & goodies, anddo a rear disc conversion, and she'll stop on a dime. but if you want to go cheap, a new rotor costs like 30 bucks at napa
Aspen
The OBS didn't get 2pots until 2003 or so. The RS has them starting in 98. You can use RS calipers/brackets and rotors and keep your 15" wheels. WRX calipers are the same but the brackets and rotors will require 16" wheels. The RS brakes will be a very good upgrade.
