jonb8
Thanks Scott, so what strut has the most range? What would you use if you didn't have to worry about mounting issues? Also I'm going to try and make this thing street legal.....Virginia is pretty easy on "Specialty Constructed Vehicles" just use a ea81 d/r and t-case and a LSD front, who needs horsepower with that kind of gear, ea81 wires up in five minutes and no sensors. with only 1100 pound buggie we havent broke anything yet (400 hard miles) and if you do parts are cheap and easy to find, KEEP IT SIMPLE and lets build!!!!!!!! jonb8
Last night was the county fair mudbog, the black one went first and opted to use first gear low range on 26in mud lites and went 9 seconds, the red one went second gear low range and went 6.1. Beat half the street class on 4 wheeler tires, gotta love subbies.
Phizinza
What was those times for? Drag? What distance? Just interested... We don't get any cool stuff like that here in Australia. We do get some alright offroad comps though.
jonb8
Sorry for the slow response, computers been down again. It was a speed pit, about 6-12 inches of mud 50 feet long. They line you up at the pit entrance, give you the green light and the time starts when you move and trip the lazer at exit. Lots of fun but gets expensive at 20$ a pass. Scott in Bellingham
awesome Buggy I want 2 , on the struts I dont know the guys it Azzie would know, the CVs will only take so much so watch out, you could make some custom a arms and use other shocks and springs, I would use the EJ but use a weber and a Escort disty like they do with the airplanes, just as simple as a EA81 but lots more power

Mostly planning stage I'm gonna have to pick your brain alittle on the ranger transfer and tranny. Were gonna try to use the floor pan, firewall and dash out of a legacy. Ej power plant but I'm worried about getting a disty wet in mud and such. Then tube the rest of it and hang a full body on it like we do a race car.
