madkow007
ok...here goes 1) 90 Leg AWD wagon 1) 90 Leg 2wd sedan 1) 91 Leg 2wd sedan (parts car) On the wagon, the fuel gauge does'nt work all the time so we thought we take out the one from the parts car to fix it as it is known to work. After we started taking apart the one on the wagon we noticed it has 2 fuel things in it, one round and one ovel:confused:. The parts car only has an ovel one:confused:...nothing under the round cover. Q 1 is...what is the round part (has a plug and one fuel line comming out of it) Q 2 is...Witch one is going to control the fuel gauge? round one or ovel one? Any help with this would be great. The round part does not even show up in the peice of junk help me fix it book. Thanks
nipper
In all AWD subarus the tank is split in two by the driveshaft. This nescetates the dual senders a "jet" pump (fuel siphon). The jet pump siphons the fuel out of one side of the tank to the side with the electric pump. They work in conjunction with each other. You can not use a AWD sender in a 2wd car. nipper
Cougar
Usually just cleaning the sender wiper contacts will take care of the problem with the sender unit. Some memebers have put Techron in the tank and cleaning action of it that got things working again.
