WoodsWagon
When the Impreza came out, the TCU got fuel cut logic, but the 1st gen legacy and SVX kept the "upshift" logic. Even with the selector in 1 it will upshift. In 2-manual mode (which only works in 2 and 3) it will still upshift to 3rd. When you slow back down it will downshift, sometimes rather abruptly. Can you tell that I read endwrench articles for fun? What do they do in neutral?
deks69
Well hell, So basically HG problems isnt from reving the piss out of your car? I'm not interested in puting in a 2.2, the 2.5 is running great ATM. I miss my 2.0 WRX, but that wasnt the intention of this car. This was supposed to be practical. If my 2.5 goes out I will put in a turbocharged 2.0, if they will bolt up. Nothing a little fabing shouldnt cure. To the redline!
SakoTGrimes
uh oh. A few times i might have reved it cold up to 2-2.5k rpms. But the only itme i felt like reviing it to 6,000rpm. was when it was warmed up. On cold days my Loyale would rev itself up to that range to warm up. 2500 cold won't hurt it. porcupine73
Cool. Yes EndWrench articles are fun, and very informative. Also if you can get them to send you the print copy, it comes before the issue is posted on their web site. May '07 just came yesterday. It is about belt wear, a/c service tips, and valve train service.
