Cougar Posted September 8, 2007 Share Posted September 8, 2007 Wellll...it depends. Some systems do need a external resistor in the path to limit the current. Since the previous coil burned up I was thinking your system needed a resistor. After you tested the new coil and it felt cool it appears your system is designed to handle the full battery voltage.
