VT Hokie
I just noticed on the Subaru site that the non-turbo 2008 Legacy is rated at 170 hp now vs 175, and the highway mileage estimate has gone from 30 down to 27. Is that simply due to a change in EPA reporting, or is there an actual hardware change? I found the old estimate of 30 mpg to be quite accurate. My 2007 2.5i Limited will actually exceed 30 mpg on the highway, even with the a/c running.
ron917
The methods for calculating both HP and fuel economy have changed. This applies to all vehicles, not just Subaru. I thought the HP calculation was changed for the 2007 model year, but I could be wrong on that. I know that the 2008 model year begins the new fuel economy ratings. They are supposed to be closer to real life averages. Still, your mileage may vary.
