hankosolder2
what years are best for this operation??I have an auto trans should I try to find 2.2 out of an auto?? You want an engine out of a '95 Legacy 2.2 automatic, complete with the intake manifold, wiring harness, etc. It'll plug straight in, more or less. Search the New Generation forum for more info- this topic has been covered extensively. Nathan
AZTOAK
I am doing this right now, same year even, and am having some silly problems before I hardly get started. :-\ Here it is. idosubaru
the easiest is a 2.2 with an EGR valve. if you get a 1995 the only added bonus is that they have dual port exhaust liket he 2.5 so the 2.5 existing exhaust bolts right up. if you get another year 2.2 with EGR, just get the exhaust/ ypipe with it and bolt that up. it's that simple. you can bypass the EGR system as well, but that takes some extra work.
