Well, seeing how I was unable to RallyX my RX (due to low engine breakin miles) I was putting my Hatch thru some serious water crossings.

Can we say "Floater"?

The mudput pit was gnarly deep, maybe 40+ in in some areas....

The axle snap was neat. It snapped clean off at the cup and made a cool sound too:headbang:

I have this on film, just need to figure out how to get it uploaded somewhere so I can post it here. Any suggestions?

I had about 3 to 4in of water inside after my second run thru the pond.

I got water in the disty about 15ft in and was running on 2 cyl. I would get the r's up and give it some clutch, then move about a foot. Did this for about 5min then the water dissapated and ran on all 4 and I was up and out. My first run thru was a eye opener. I got 3/4 thru and I had no more traction. The tires were going good, was in real deep but not making a forward progress (or very little). I turned the wheel back and forth and kept my foot in it. At this point I think the tires were paddle wheels. I was moving, but slowly....maybe because I was floating? Finally caught bottom and it pulled right out. Cant explain how its sounds when your exhaust is under water, but it was blowing bubbles for sure:lol:

I didnt get there in time, but Scott got swamped in the middle also. But he was able to dry out and drive out under his own power.

I didnt get any pics of the area on my digi:confused: Thats lame....but I was to busy driving and enjoying myself to take pics:-p

I hope I was entertaining for everyone and from what I saw there were lots of cameras rolling and clicking. Heck, I had people taking pics of me driving home on the Fwy:rolleyes:

I know alot of you that were out there took pics and vid of me, so if you got em, post em!

I was poking fun at the drunk driver actually. Doesnt matter what you drive, if your being a idiot, your headed for trouble.

I'm not sure what water hole you were talking about, but I was planning on going thru that wide trough to the left of the main pit. I was waiting for Art and another guy that were taking pics of me all weekend but they never showed. It was getting late and I really didnt want to have to try and dry the Hatch out before hitting the road.

But thats the deepest I've been yet................in a Soob.

Ya know I'm playing Rob. You were a pretty big star, you didn't let folks down by not using your ride for what it was meant for. You also didn't let folks down by not knowing how to pilot it. Bravo, kudos, all that!

I gave alot of rides too. It was fun watching some of them squirm:lol:

I was telling them that besides the water, the trails were pretty tame.

Well, except for the one on the other side of the pond:-p Darn mud was slick.

Your hatch looks great!:slobber: My hatch is angry at me right now as I drool over your car! Is that an ea81 in there turning those big meats or is that an ej22?

Still running a EA81 with a weber. It does the speed limit on the hwy, its all in the gearing;)

Bratsrus has a cool new conversion setup for carbing a EJ. He brought it to the show to showoff. If I do a EJ swap this is what I would do.

He definately is somebody I would love to meet! It seems that he along with a few others is among the fore front of thinking outside the box on subies. That carb swap would be something I would love to try. I am definately a bit old school since I still love carbs.

Is the carb swap for the ej a single weber or dual or is it a big 4 barrel?

Yeah, I know what you mean. My Mom was in the truck when the hood went under water. lol ('You're not gonna try to go in there are you?. . . ERIC!!'

I also got a little off caber going up one of the muddy climbs and had to weasel my way the rest of the way up. She was a little freaked out, but she's getting better. (she wanted a second ride in the imp at the rally x.)

I loved how Saturday morning, we had to go up and rescue the stuck guys from down south. That was fun especially when we couldn't find them:rolleyes:

I wish someone would have gotten some pics of me playin around in my car but eh oh well. Next time I won't forget to take my camera.

So Rob, when we gonna go play in the hatch again?:-p

The Hatch Patrol might be making a run in Aug. Havent set a date yet, stay tuned.

Russ, you kind of just jumped in your car and took off, everyone was wondering where you were headed until I think Josh said you were going to get your car muddy:-\

You will need to come over Chinook pass, it probably the fastest. And you come over real close to to a few of us (Bonney Lk, Buckley, etc).

We are thinking of setting up a meet for next month, we need to welcome back a long lost soldier with a wheeling trip:headbang:
